I think if you review MYPARSE.LX in EXTRAS, you will find what you need.

Subject: User created Syntax checking
Date: Tue, 17 Jun 2003 09:30:46 -0700

I would like to add a couple of simple syntax checks to CODE when using RPGIV in free form (such as checking for parenthesis after a procedure name on a CallP statement line and that an ending semi-colon has been used on a free-form statement). Has anyone else attempted to add their own syntax checking routines, and if so how did they do it?

Thanks, Don
