We do have VPN support, but the last time I tried to use it, it did not work.

Do not understand your 1st question, and concerning our security policies don't
know that either. Just know that when there have been connectivity issues in
the past, our firewall was doing its job and blocking the traffic.

Maybe I have made an assumption, and perhaps my question should be if I can
transmit the source back and forth using RSE. Assumed that this was its major
function when used with CODE, at least until it replaces CODE.

Hi,

Mmm... and is something else working from home ?

Does your company allow unencrypted traffic passing the firewall ?

I would recommend to look at a VPN solution (which is secured by default) so
that you don't need to open specific ports.

Kind regards,
Paul

Subject: Cannot connect to the AS400 with RSE

Hello all,

Don't know if this is the correct list for RSE, or if it is the WDSC list,
so I'll start here...

I am testing version 4 of WDSC at home, prior to rolling it out at the
office. The install went fine, and CODE is running as before. The biggest
change I see in this version is RSE. But I cannot connect to the AS/400.
When I go into the explorer view, and try to get into the members on the
AS/400. I get a sign-on screen, as I expected. Key in my normal user
profile and password, and then the prompt just sits there. Eventually I get
an error saying that I could not connect to the AS/400.

My thought is that this is a problem getting through the company firewall.
If so, does anyone know what port RSE uses? If not a firewall issue, then
what?

As always, appreciate any help. Thanks!
