     Mark,

There is a problem in that if the value of the parm needs to be a
certain length (less than 6 positions), and you use a variable name

instead of a value, and if that variable name exceeds the length,
you
will get a bogus message back saying that you exceeded the length.

Eric Simpson/IBM has a fix for this which works. However, there is

still some quirky stuff in the prompter even with this fix (but it
works great for most things as you know). Hopefully Eric will be
able
to resolve these other problems as well in a future release.

I could not find Eric's fix, so if he is listening, maybe he can
email
     the fix.

Hello all,

With Chris's help, I got CL Prompting working yesterday. Now I have an
issue with some funny error messages. Whenever I prompt this command:
 crtprtf file(&PRLIB/&PRFILE) srcfile(&PRLIB/QDDSSRC) +
             dev(&PRDEVN) pagesize(&PRFSZL &PRFSZW) +
             lpi(&PRLPI) cpi(&PRCPI) ovrflw(&PROVRF)

it tells me that the ovrflw(&provrf) is more than 6 characters. As far
as I
know, this is bogus. I've uesd this cl for some time now and have no
problems. Could the problem be that I am on V5R1 of code and V4R5 of
OS/400?

Thanks,

Mark
