I turned of my highlighting today too -- for the same reason.

     Rob,

Thanks for the tip! I turned off highlight, and I have went for
several days now with no lock-ups.

Hopefully this extra can be fixed - I really liked it. For now it's
     turned off...

     Doug

Do you have the line highlight on in Extras? The problem seems worse for
me
with this switched on, although it's happened much less frequently with
V5R1.

Cheers
Rob

Subject: Scrolling with CODE editor

I have had the following problem in every version of CODE I have used
(have used CODE for 1.5 years). Finally got tired of the problem and
decided to post it the group.

Whenever I do a lot of scrolling in CODE, (several screens worth or
more), the session has a habit of locking up. It does not matter
whether I use the Page Up/Down keys, click on the scroll bar, or use
the mouse wheel. Probably once or twice a day when scrolling in the
CODE editor, it will freeze. I can USUALLY save my work OK, and then
press F3 or click on the X in the top right to close the session. Then

I have to start up once again, and open up all the members I was
working on - about a 5 minute process. So I lose around 10 minutes a
     day doing this, every day.

This has been on Win/95 and 98, and at least 3 versions of CODE
(currently up-to-date, V5R1 with all patches).

Anyone have a suggestion, other than don't scroll?
