I attempted an install over V4R5. I got several errors on the first CD
where it couldn't find a text file for a dialog (exact text of message
is at work) but the install continued. then it failed right at the end
of disk 4, but everything seemed to be installed.

However, help didn't work and I couldn't get the library list support in
the Communications daemon to work.

I whacked my DOS path back severly. I uninstalled *everything* I could
find that related to Code/400, VAJ, WDT and Java runtime environments.

Then I installed VAJ from disk 5 first, followed by WDT, then put my
path back. (200 byte restriction is really strange, not to say
annoying.) Now everything works, except the library list stuff. I'm
still investigating that.

I have both a V5R1 and a V4R4 box that I can attach to and get differing
results on both boxes. It might be something to do with some exit
security that we haven't got enable correctly, thought the system
programmer hasn't yet found any record of it.

Has anyone had problems installing WDT V5R1 on top of an existing V4R5
installation?

I've already attempted to uninstall V4R5 from one workstation, but it
doesn't appear that it can be done "cleanly", so I'm inclined to just
try a
straight upgrade on the next machine.
