Ed,

I am not sure how to help you on the unable to do any command processing
from within the Command Shell.  Need more information.  What kind of
errors are you getting?  Are you use STRCODE or VCOM?  If STRCODE what
does the Joblog for that session say?  If VCOM, is there anything in the
FVDCERRS.LOG file?

For the error messages, you are not shutting down the Command Shell properly.
It is like the MS-DOS Prompt window, it has to be shut down properly to
avoid the error messages.  Try this in the Command Shell: Right click
in the window and select Local.  Then type Exit and press enter.  The
Command Shell should now shut down gracefully.
