Although the new C compiler is more consistent with C on other platforms it has lost much when compared to the previous C compiler.

More to the point, though, the ILE C stuff that goes into our products
gets compiled on our V4R2 box. But we've got one ILE C program that's
used internally, on our V6 box, and we'd kind of like to avoid the kind
of mess I went through yesterday, reconstructing the files the program accesses.
