You might want to check the BPCS on-line documentation.
See my posts to User Group Security Maintenance,
Apparently Yanti is not familar with the stuff on the DOC menu so I going
into more detail there on how to get at the BPCS on-line documentation.
One of the documents (I not remember which one) explains all SYS800 screens
in gory detail.
There are also documents specific to both JIT and PUR that explain this
subject.

We are on 405 CD & my understanding is that we cannot have one cost method
for JIT & another for PUR. The Weighted Average documentation has examples
of how the process works, in which you pick how much weight to give to
history vs. latest transactions. On 405 CD we not have the option to do it
at month end, unless we do no transactions during course of month. Averaging
occurs whenever transactions get posted. However you could perhaps run
CST900 only once a month, as part of end-month cycle & get some of it that
way, but we can't delay receipt of raw materials until end of month ... we
have to enter them same day as we get them. Your version may have
capabilities ours don't.
