Hi Bill,

We went from V4R5 to V5R1 last November (we too are on BPCS 4.05CD); went
from a model 170 to 270. We didn't have any problems w/ BPCS. Although,
we did have to get a new key; our serial number did change, which may be
why... Good luck.

I am currently on BPCS version 4.05CD and am about to upgrade my AS-400 from
V4 R4 to V 5 R1, and also upgrade from a model 720 to an 820. I will retain
the same serial number on the hardware but the model number will change. Has
anyone done this upgrade and if so will there be a problem with my permanent
key on the BPCS software.
