Stop.  The procedure below will NOT work.

8xx System are NOT supported at V4R4 of OS/400.

Some 8xx systems are supported at V4R5 of OS/400 - some 820, all 830 and
some 840 models.

All 820-24xx systems are ONLY supported at V5R1 of OS/400.

Oh yes. A very important note.

1. Install OS/400 V4R4M0 on the new 820 box.
2. Make sure everything is working fine
3. Backup everthing required (BPCS,ETC...) on the old 720 box.
4. Restore on new 820 box
5. Upgrade from V4R4M0 to V5R1M0 on new 820
