Beth,

I Have done something very similar to what you are asking about.
We use Demand Solutions for our forecasting solution instead of BPCS.

Basically, you want to by-pass the BPCS forecasting system.

1st I remove the old future demand in BPCS by deleting the records in KMR
with an MTYPE = 'F' and in the future so many months looking at the JPD.
2nd I remove all records that are in the past looking at the JPD.
4th I load most of the forecast in weekly records.
5th Some items are in monthly records.

If you would like to see examples, I can send you some.
It is important that your comparisons are done based on the Forecast Period
Master file.
I would think that you would not want to remove frozen periods from your
forecast (demand).

On the upload part, I would upload into a work file. I would use CSV instead
of Excel format.

Sincerely,

Subject: MRP100 Upload?

I am interested in uploading the forecast into MRP100 from another format
such as MS Excel.
If anyone has tried something like this and has some advice, I would
appreciate it.

One of my concerns is the possible loss of the DRP orders in the KMR file if
we replace the whole KMR file. Will they 'Regen' after the next MRP run?

I appreciate your response.
