i'm not an expert in this but i would be concerned about the following:
1. are your bills and routings at the global level or the facility level? i
believe that if you specify costing by facility the costing programs will try
to use facility specific bills and routings, if you change to global, the
costing programs will want to use global bills and routings.
2. do you have programs that access the cost records? if so, are they accessing
the facility specific costs? once you build global costs these programs will
have to access the global costs?
3. do you use frozen standard costs? if so, are they at the facility level? if
you are going to generate global frozen standard costs, will these be the same
as the current facility level frozen standard costs? if they are not, will this
cause an inventory valuation variance and force a standards revision entry into
the general ledger?

We are on BPCS V6.0.02 (Mixed Mode).

We have 6 Facilities in the system and when we did the System Parameters Setup,
we chose Costing to be
facilitywise.

Do You Wish to Run Costing by Facility? 1 (1=Yes 0=No)

Now we want to change it to '0' Global Costing as our costs for the item are the
same across all these facilities.
This would save lot of our time

Pl share your experiences.

Rao
