is that a typo ... you mean ALL ITEMS are same across the 6 facilities?
as opposed to only ONE item global ... you know you can do one item global 
while the rules are by facility ... if BPCS software cannot find facility 
record on an item it will look for global one

Do you plan to do EVERYTHING global ... BOM, Routings, MRP, CAP?
Have you looked at the documentation to see the implications of populating 
the files with global stuff that does not now exist, and removing the by 
facility detail?

Do you plan to manually transcribe data from facility records to global, or 
some kind of an automated conversion?  If you looking for jigsaw puzzle 
AS/400 conversion software, I suggest you take a look at what File Track from 
http://www.outlookcomputing.com has to offer you.

Or do you plan to do costing global & keep some of the other stuff by 
facility?
