Oludare,

I assume you're referring to ALLOCATIONS since I've never heard of a hard or
soft location. If you really mean LOCATIONS, sorry . . . .

Soft allocations are indication of demand only (MSI summary lists as MFG
Alloc and Cust Alloc) and are reflected primarily in IWI (WCUSA) and IIM
(ICUSA and IPRDA) but also are reflected in the customer order (LQSALL in
ECL) and shop order.

Hard allocations are actual reservation of specific inventory for customer
and shop orders. This information is stored in ELA, ECL (LQALL) and FMA
(MQALL) and is always referred to as ALLOCATED in BPCS Inquiries (in contrast
to soft allocations). AVAILABLE is calculated in BPCS as on-hand - hard
allocations.

Hope this helps . . . let me know if you were looking for more or something
else!

Devin
