Hi Vern,

Currently i am using JMeter tool for sending the Requests to IWS. In JMeter
we have option to say how many transaction needs to send at the same time.
In that if i am mentioning 30 and sending 30 transaction exactly at the
same time. My assumption is IWS will receive all the 30 transactions and
send it to the 30 PJ's which is available for processing.

But when i try sending 25 Transaction at the same time with 1 second delay
for 40 Loops, which means total of 1000 Transactions will be sent to IWS
(25 transactions per batch for 40 Batches). In this, IWS exactly using only
20 jobs (PJ's) for processing all the 1000 transactions. I am wondering how
IWS is exactly using only 20 jobs for processing, why not 15 or 25 or 30
jobs. I am suspecting there will be some configuration which will say use a
maximum of n number of jobs for processing the requests.

Any suggestions?

Regards,
Surender K

Hi

Without knowing for sure, I'll say that these prestart jobs are used "as
needed", typically.

Now I'm not sure what you mean by "in paraller" - I suspect that even
"in paraller" that they are not happening at exactly the same moment.

If your web service tasks are very short, by the time the 21st is ready
to process, the 1st is done, and its prestart job is available - there
is no need to use the 21st job.

I will step out on a very small limb here - it might be safe to say that
almost nothing is truly simultaneous on the system.

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to use IWS (Integrated Web Services) in iSeries. We have a
configuration in IWS at Service Level that "Connection Pool Fill Count" i
am setting it as 100. Now, i am starting the service and send a request
to
the service, now 100 QZRCSRVS jobs is getting created.

Now my clarifications is, if i send 100 transaction in parallel and at
the
same time to the IWS, it is always using only 20 jobs to process all the
100 request.

Any one help me in changing the configuration or better understanding the
IWS, how to utilize all the 100 jobs and also why IWS is not using more
than 20 Jobs?

Regards,
Surender K
