I realize that.  There are two steps that are added.  One is adding the length parm, the other is populating the length parm.

This is what I do:

   d  recordCount                  10i 0
   d  dataOut                            likeds(wDataOutDS) dim(25000)
...
      // populate the array() with data.
         ... steps to fill datastructure wDataOutDS ...
      recordCount += 1;
      dataOut(recordCount) = wDataOutDS;

Re-read what I said about "added an extra parameter" - it started failing only_after_ I added the length.
