I would agree that we need new tooling and learning regarding the building
of the RESTful design. I did some quick research today looking at Python
as a tool to build the web service and use whatever to call it using a JSON
payload. That language make more sense to me than node for the tasks I
need to perform. RPG will figure heavily into this software simply be
because it’s being built for i.

There are literally 1000s of examples to weed through. Here is the
dilemma, Nearly every one of them assume Linux as the OS with a
smattering of Windows. None of them seem to fit using Apache as the web
server and none of those examples will show the pluming needed to make it
work on IBM i.

Until and unless those of us trying to use this new paradigm have somewhere
to start this type of shift is not going to happen in more traditional i
shops. The learning curve becomes to steep to be economically effective.

So can someone show me the Hello world using i as the server? I don’t
expect anyone to give away proprietary information but it would be nice to
see.

IWS on the other hand does provide that example.
