That means that you made it through and got the service deployed. Good deal. In my opinion, there isn't a lot of risk. You have a couple of choices. You can assign a password to the QWSERVICE user, or you can go back to the setup of the web service and change the user that it is running as. QWSERVICE (at least on my box) is a *USER class account, with no special authorities and doesn't have a group profile. It doesn't run any services unless you start a web service with it as the user. As is it is a pretty safe user profile. In my case, I assigned a password to QWSERVICE and used that. But I don't keep IWS services running on my box. If I did, I would probably create a user specific to each service, and then lock down the profile, programs, and data in order to give the minimum access needed.

Subject: [WEB400] com.ibm.as400.access.AS400SecurityException: Password is *NONE.:QWSERVICE

Deploying a web service. Now I am getting the message:

com.ibm.as400.access.AS400SecurityException: Password is *NONE.:QWSERVICE

I purposely avoid most issues regarding security because that strikes me as an area that, in itself, is a full time job.

What are the risks/choices.dangers here?
