Hi, I know very little about CMS software, but would any of the following be possibilities for you?

1. Set up a linked server connection between your CMS database and the DB2 database on IBMi. We have set up a linked server connection between a SQL Server database and our IBMi DB2 database, which allows us to code PeopleSoft programs that run on Windows but access data on the IBMi.

1. Get a CMS that runs on Java or has good integration with Java. Then use the JTOpen/Toolbox for Java (jt400.jar) package to code Java scripts that remotely access DB2 files on the IBMi. You can also access IFS files using JTOpen as well.

1. Get a CMS that supports the use of web services. Then pick your favorite technology on the IBMi to create web services that deliver content to the CMS (e.g., Node.JS, PHP, Java, or even CGI with RPG or COBOL).

Since .Net appears to be part of your problem why not look to other CMS systems that utilize PHP or Python or ... ?

I am researching the web for web content management software available in a .Net platform that uses the IBM i for content storage. Our current WCMS (IBM WCMS, Java Platform) is running with the website on a Linux box using IBM i for content storage. We are having difficulty finding CMS packages that work with the IBM i from a .Net platform. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Am I going to have to bite the bullet and install SQL Server?
