Just for reference, Zend Server 9.x and PHP 7.x does not require IBMi 7.3.

We are running it on 7.1.

It appears that Zend has included pdo_dblib, you just need to enable it in the server setup.

From the Zend Server "PHP" "Extensions" page.
pdo_dblib
FreeTDS PHP-MSSQL-Sybase DB Access

PDO_DBLIB is a driver that implements the PHP Data Objects (PDO) interface to enable access from PHP to Microsoft SQL Server and Sybase databases through the FreeTDS libary.

Subject: [WEB400] PHP 7 & connecting to MS SQLServer

We will be upgrading the OS on our IBMi to 7.3 in the near future. This will allow us to update Zend Server to 9.1, and start using PHP 7.1. YES!

For several applications, we connect to a Microsoft SQL Server from the IBMi, using mssql functions with freetds to provide access.

Since mssql functions have been removed from PHP 7, what are our options for connecting to Microsoft SQL Server? We must be able to bind parameters. Are any of you using PHP 7 on the IBMi and connecting to SQL Server?

Thank you for your time. I've posted this on the Zend Server for IBM i forum, but haven't received a response. Frustrating!
