Hi,

I would suggest to use
1) HTTPAPI (http://www.scottklement.com/httpapi/) and write an RPGLE
program to download the pdf to the IFS.
2) If your printer is recent and has the PDF option you can just send the
file to the printer using FPT.

I have written a program like this but it was some time ago for a customer
and the source is not actually on my computer ...

kind regards

Paul

Hello Jeffrey,

Not sure if you're open to commercial options, but here goes.

Native IBMi Options
I believe Brad Stone has a purchased component you can buy to download
files from a web site. (http://www.bvstools.com)

We have a native IBMi product for printing PDF documents to most any
printer from the i.

Windows Options
An alternative option would be to use a Windows component such as our
AutoMate product to script the download processing and printing.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

subject: [WEB400] Print PDF from URL with RPG

Hey good afternoon everyone!

Can anybody give me a step up here? I've been trying to get my head
around how I can retrieve a PDF from a URL, and print it via an IBM i outq
with RPG or CL.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so if someone has some sample code,
I'd greatly appreciate it if you could share it.

Thanks,
Jeff
