The drop-down list of available values works fine on a browser-based application. If you are calling the same back-end process from a web service then the input values cannot be limited like that. This may not be a concern for you but something to consider. I always try to think of all the ways a "back-end" process can be called. You generally don't want to rely on "front-end" validation.

I want to be able to use an SQL UDF from PHP, Seems like I need to use the same method as using an SQL Stored Procedure. If that's the case, the value of a function seems to be less than expected.
