Mark,
I do PHP programming on a MAC using TextWrangler. I have also used TextMate - equally as good. I use Parallels too and love it -- runs Windows as good as just about any other Intel machine. But, I do not need it for HTML, PHP, CSS, etc.

You may already have your PHP environment setup, but if not I would recommend you download a free copy of MAMP. Check out the LYNDA.COM video tutorials for great training vids on MAMP and PHP.

Any thoughts/recommendations on a PHP IDE/editor that runs on a Mac? I
have Parallels, and can run a Windows app, but I'd rather stick with
native if I can. I'll be writing PHP code that will be interacting
with a Power System running i. Zend Studio looks like it $269 - it
would be nice to have something less costly...as in free. Thanks!
I can't seem to get away from ActiveState Komodo Edit. It's free and has been for years. I used to be a paying customer back when the basic edition cost money. It's basic but very effective and annoys me less than all of them. Other popular editors include Aptana and several Jetbrains editors.

As far as interacting with i, I would think think that is only semantics in how your projects, libraries and code completion is setup and any php editor should be suitable.

Thanks,
Mark
