Separating the presentation layer from the RPG allows you to change your
presentation system as it changes over time without changing your RPG back
end code.
Use whatever client software that is in vogue for the time. See how HTML has
evolved over the past 20 years. CGIDEV for example did not have to change
and has it supported the HTML versions, JSON, JQUERY etc. very well.
Did you notice how the "I" has lost favor because its presentation layer
(green screen) was so closely tied into the RPG?
Freeing RPG from the presentation layer has ensured the future of the "I".
