Cons? There are some sharp limitations on the parameters.

If you are running V7, one of the major limitations (subprocedures with return values) can be removed by coding RTNPARM on the return parameter definition. Your RPG programs won't notice (as long as they are recompiled) and the subprocedure will normally run faster.
