--If you can't go to WAS 8, I would definitely go to WAS 7. WAS 6.x isI agree. And don't forget to remember to switch to the j9 jvms (32 or 64bit) before the upgrade to i os 7.
based on Java EE 1.4 which is quite awful. Also WAS 6.1 uses Java
5 which was EOL'd almost 3 years ago.
I've been in trouble when going from v5r4 to i7 while still on 64 bit classic jvms.
Took some time in telephone with a gentleman from Rochester to sort things out afterwards.
