Once you have DB2 Connect installed, you create a catalog to point to
your iSeries database. This is old, but it looks similar to what I did
along time ago to get it working. We switched to running on Zend server
on the iSeries for the time being and don't have that problem.

I saw that in the documentation, but it doesn't seem to explain what
steps would be taken differently if that were available. Do you compile
the extension differently, or does it go on the iseries?
