I don't know about the full blown product they offer, but the "essentials"
version is pretty ugly. The code is ugly, the design is ugly, and its
tough to work with. Definitely not my idea of a good DnD web editor. It
looks like the essentials is just an old version as opposed to the new
version with limitations on features and/or trial time, etc. I was
unimpressed.

At any rate.... Mike, I hope you have fun with this project. A simple
site like the one you are working on really lets you incrementally build
on your skills and can be a ton of fun to do and learn from.

lol.. All too true.

Still, my experience is that the end product is useful, the quality is
excellent, and the maintenance is a breeze. Changing themes is ten
minutes work, and that is a pretty common request from people who just
want a web page so they have a web page (friends & relatives in other
words.)

Knowing HTML is a good thing, but making rollover buttons, picking color
themes, getting legal imagery, and doing decent design work is just not
a fun way to spend a weekend.

Beware of HTML code generated by these types of tools. It can be really
ugly. I don't have any experience with this one but that's been my
experience with others. You also don't learn much by dragging/dropping
and
pointing/clicking.

If your goal is to put something up quickly then a tool can help. If
you
want to learn and maintain it then an editor (vs. a generator) is the
way
to go.

Consider a tool.

That is free and fairly powerful.

One part at a time. :-)

I'm going to do font and colors first. Then work on layout.
