I've already responded to thins in another forum - but I've repeated those thought here.

I have made a fast search with google and in this group archive but i have not found any trace of somebody who already done that.
I started wondering why? Is there a technical limit or problem i don't see or simply nobody received a similar proposal?

At one time Bob Cozzi was supposed to be doing an RPG-based CMS but I've heard nothing about it for 12 months or so now. But my reaction to your proposal is the same as it was when I heard about his ... why bother?

I am a huge fan of using RPG to power your web site where it makes sense (i.e. dynamic pages) but why would you bother reinventing the CMS wheel? The whole point of a CMS is that for the majority of sites you don't need to touch the base code - so what does it matter if it is in PHP or Java or C++ or RPG or ... ? And why would you want to develop a whole bunch of code that as time and browser technology moves on you only have to maintain? Why not use the power of one of the CMS communities to do it for you.

You have experience with two excellent CMS systems (Drupal and Wordpress) and both of them work beautifully on IBM i - as indeed does Joomla. All of these can incorporate CGIDEV2 generated pages. If bridging these CMS to your CGIDEV2 pages is problematic then why not use your skills to develop interface templates (or indeed plug-ins for the CMS of choice) to make it easier for your fellow RPGers (many of whom have already deployed these CMS) to incorporate their pages.

That said - don't powerExt and Renaissance both include some basic portal/CMS features?

Don't reinvent the wheel - there are many new things that you could use you talents on - or indeed contribute to an existing RPG OS project.

Just my 5 cents worth.
