If you want the newest storage engine to UPPERCASE your library and file names you will need to use /usr/local and not /QOpenSys.
the restrictions are spelled out in the readme.

I used similar instructions to move my data from /QOpenSys/usr/local to /usr/local to take advantage of the new UPPERCASE support.

CALL QP2TERM
mkdir -p /QOpenSys/usr/local
cd /usr/local
mv mysql-5.1.35-i5os-power-64bit /QOpenSys/usr/local
mv mysqldata /QOpenSys/usr/local
ln -sf /QOpenSys/usr/local/mysql-5.1.35-i5os-power-64bit mysql
ln -sf /QOpenSys/usr/local/mysqldata mysqldata
modify /etc/my.cnf to reflect directory changes.
