That is typical of most FOSS projects. I am still using them with the latest jQuery. Actually, the source might give you some additional ideas. Most of my web projects now use jQuery, jqGrid, combo.js,datepicker.js,validate.js and populate (plus some hacks). With everyone else doing the work, Ajax/Json web apps are a breeze these days...
