There are a lot of Javascript frameworks out there, each with a little
different flavor. If I am not mistaken the JQuery framework started out
more as a set of methods to more easily do remoting and also ease working
with DOM+HTML+CSS. ExtJS does that AND has a comprehensive UI widget
library. It appears JQuery also has a UI widget library, but that it
doesn't have the same level of prebuilt widgets at ExtJS:

Anybody have other comparisons?

In the end there are seemingly endless alternatives to ExtJS (probably 1 new
framework every other month is popping up, though most aren't anything to
write home about). At the end of the day you hope that when you pick one of
the more popular ones that you are making the right choice. Right now it
appears that ExtJS is solid concerning functionality but that you get
screwed with the dual license - though I am still waiting for others to
chime in on that.

Just curious - why use ExtJS instead of jQuery? I've not used the
former, but it is recommended by ProfoundLogic's RPG Smart Pages, for
example. We have our green-haired-kid promoting jQuery, too.
