I can't recall any specific references, but I don't think it is a big secret. Maybe it was in the Zend newsletter?

This has been a requirement since PHP first came out on the box. Once Zend announced the new server it was a pretty good guess that that would be the future of PHP on the i - since they would be implementing the new server on the box it was again a good bet that they would try to deal with that issue.

And indeed my understanding is that you will be able to run everything through a single Apache instance.

Now you've really sparked my curiosity. Any article or information about
this anywhere? I am really interested in how this will be implemented. I
hope you are implying that soon we'll be able have a single Apache instance
running both CGIDEV2 and PHP applications. If that is the case, this is
very exciting news.
