Matt,

Thanks for the reply. What you're saying makes sense, but given that
I'm looking at using CGIDEV2 to create XML documents in the IFS, the
AppHTMLtoStmf() procedure in the CTC version may be quite useful in
order to not require that the full XML doc be built in memory before
hand.

I'll see about getting onto the EASY400 board.

Not sure if that is the case anymore.  The Easy400 has versions of CGIDEV2
frozen at different release levels.  They do link to the IBM CTC version,
but there are other versions available.

So, can anyone confirm that the IBM CTC version is the one I want to use?
Or has the IBM version now been rolled into the EASY400 version?

I don't believe anyone has been brave enough to roll the changes that IBM
made into the Easy400 version.  A few years back when the debate about
CGIDEV2 being open source ended with a big, hairy NO, IBM said CTC would be
maintaining CGIDEV2 and providing support.  At first, it seemed pretty
kosher.  Rich Diedrich started answering questions on the Yahoo group, a
new web site was launched, and a new version came out.  They even created a
new Yahoo group called CGIDEV2 (as opposed to Easy400).  Then, after only a
few months, Rich Diedrich and CTC suddenly went silent.  I don't believe
anyone has heard a thing from CTC regarding CGIDEV2 since then.

If I were you, I'd stick with the Easy400 version.  That is the code base
that most CGIDEV2 experts are familiar with.  Know going in that IBM
probably won't be much help if problems come up, but the Easy400 group on
Yahoo is incredibly helpful and usually responds promptly.
