I agree.  Adding a JavaBridge wouldn't really be a great idea - just another
failure point and also a performance degradation most likely.

So back to my original question... anybody have a "acceptable" or "industry
standard" way to communicate to iSeries DB2 when PHP is running on Linux?
Doesn't seem like it should be this hard :-(

My reason to "use PHP because it is popular" is slowing losing gas....
