The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.

I'm not very familiar with PHP so I don't know if it is doing this under the covers or not but the script has to return valid HTTP headers or you will get a 500 error. If this is the cause of the 500 error, you'll see a message in the error log complaining about the headers missing.
