ProxyPreserveHost On
That solved the problem I was having with phpMyAdmin too! It would redirect after login to the name of the server that I was accessing by IP address. Since the name is public, it doesn't resolve locally to the internal IP address I was accessing. I had to log in, wait for error, change URL back to IP address. Now it just works! (Yes, I could change my dns to return different results based on where I am or I could change my i5 so it doesn't think it's public, but I've broken too much already playing with Zend and didn't want to bother over something so easy to work around.)
