When I type git I see the following:

Which version are you using, are you sure this isn't an old Git?

It installs just fine but when I run it I still get the "git: can't get terminal name." error.

I emailed a few people at IBM that know PASE quite well but I never got a resolution to the issue. I really need it for the JRuby and Rails development I want to do on the i but Ihave been doing manual installs or mapping network drives in Windows so that I can run git from the command line in windows to install the compoents I want.

I just haven't have the time to pursue it further.

I'd say go for it! Then post back as to how you were able to get it to work. I am guessing there is a config setting somewhere. Scott Klement gave the best explanation of what was going on, I just have been too busy to follow up.

Pete,

I remember you asking about installing git before. Did you make any

with that? I've recently begun to seriously consider doing so myself.

Thanks,
