I found that pretty interesting and was surprised that nobody on
the mailing groups didn't mention this prior to the announcement
letter coming out.

I have seen others mention PHP but it wasn't/isn't clear to me
exactly what it might do for me.

A good many of the web developers seem to forget that the rest
of the programming world has ZERO knowledge of this new
"blended" technology that mixes Unix/Windows + RPG.

I have been writing code for many moons on many versions of
RPG and all it's new extensions. I doubt anything I have learned
would prepare me for the "web experience".

Maybe IBM has finally decided which way they are going with
this stuff.

Notice the first sentence stating it is INCLUDED with IBM i. I must say
that is a good decision if you ask me. It also gives me hope that they are
in bed with each other for the long run.

and without starting some sort of jihad on what methods work and don't

I have seen some really heated discussions on the various tools
available but
is this a real development tool as is or do you need to buy something
