I have many domains at GoDaddy that were originally at NetSol. I have also
transferred about 20 domains to GoDaddy for a client. I have had no issues
at GoDaddy, they even honored the existing DNS settings/WHOIS info from the
previous registrar.

My only complaint is that when I renew a domain ( or buy a new one) they try
VERY hard to upsell the puchase. Also the user interface has irritating
ads.

Before starting the transfer process, make sure the domain is "unlocked" at
NetSol and that you have the "auth code/EPP code" from NetSol. You can do
both tasks using the NetSol control panel.

They are relying on ignorance, IMO.

What would it take to have Network Solutions to give up the
registration, and go with "Daddy"?

Transferring a domain is very easy ... as long as you are registered with a
reputable registrar (NSI and GoDaddy both fall into that category), it's
quite easy to do. It just takes a few days.

Personally, I switched to GoDaddy many years ago and haven't looked back.
