There are a LOT of open source solutions written in PHP. The GD engine
is configured and turned on by default when you setup PHP on the i5. I
would recommend finding an open source solution at hotscripts.com or
phpclasses.org and exploring the possibilities.
The link below works fairly well and the author created a very nice
interface screen to prototype the solution and generate the PHP Object
and Class references that you can drop into your code. Even if you are
not a fan of PHP, this code could give you insights into the OO model of
PHP and how easy it is to implement in a procedural or OO script. I
literally copied the PHP code from the zip into a directory on my i5 and
had charts going in minutes. If you are comfortable placing i5 data in
HTML lists and such this class ill be a piece of cake. Drop me a line
if you need sample code.

Subject: [WEB400] Charting tool for mixed chart types
I will have a need to create a mixed chart with stacked bars and lines.
The chart will have two target lines, and stacked bars for each day of
the month. Are you generating charts on the i, and what tools do you
use?
Thanks,
Loyd
