Because many of the attendees at our conferences do not have PayPal
accounts (and we didn't feel it reasonable to force them to do so to
do business with us) we use FirstData's Linkpoint
(www.linkpointsource.com
). They have a number of options from callable APIs to PayPal like
interfaces and more. I can't recall the fees right now, but I seem to
recall that they were not that different from PayPal.
Jon,
As I stated in my first post in this thread, users do NOT need a paypal
account to pay via cc with paypal. When I send invoices via paypal, there
is an option to directly pay without setting up the account.
Now, I've found a couple things with this:
1. The email doesn't make it obvious that there's a link to do this (I wish
the email sent was customizable)
2. 40% of my customers do have paypal accounts already set up
3. They do cap the amount in a year a customer can pay (cant remember the
limit, but it only was an issue once).
I've discussed with paypal it would be nice to make the email received
easier to use since there are multiple links to use (one for paypal user,
one for non-paypal user). But I understand they want more to sign up.
I plan on checking out your option as well. Thanks for sharing.
Brad
