I have now gotten quite familiar with running AIX programs in PASE and
it is very nice!
Now I need to replicate logfiles between two AS/400 systems and due to
bandwith and large, growing files rsync would be perfect for the job.
rsync runs well as a normal client in PASE, but ssh is not yet available
on the one which is visible to the other (firewall nastyness) so I'd
like to run "rsync --daemon --no-detach" on the one running V5R4. It
works on the AIX 4.3 machine I compiled rsync on, but it unfortunately
fails silently on the AS/400.
Is there anybody who have had success with using rsync as a server on
the AS/400, and would care to share experiences?
