And - Yes, I have thought that is itI have recently bought a MacBook and put the stuff I must have from Windows in a virtual machine (first under VirtualBox and now under VMWare Fusion which is a really nice product). Both XP and Windows 2000 (the latter is the leanest plus it does not have validation issues when you do stuff with your virtual machine).
cheaper just to dump hardware and buy new when things go wrong with Windows.
