As a general rule of thumb, you should do the Java, DB, HTTP, and WAS groups at the same time. The WebSphere groups used to include all of that but version 6 is packaged differently than the previous ones so I guess they quit doing that.

No. Both run on the same iSeries. Java is 2 levels behind from what is currently available and there is now another websphere group. We will get all of them and apply and see what happens.

.. funny, IBM didn't mention any of those in the weeks we have had them looking at this.

Is there a firewall between the system WebSphere is on and the database? If so, make sure that both systems are sending keep-alives that are under the firewall timeout. Also, you should have applied the database and Java groups at the same time. If you haven't done that, I would apply them and see if the message goes away.
