It's interesting you mention AD/Cycle and Joe CSP. Wow, what a flashback to days when I used to sell/consult on AD/Cycle and do some work in CSP. Interesting to see EGL comes from that background.
Out of all that there were some very good modeling tools (KnowledgeWare, BACHMAN, etc.) and I haven't seen anything as good as them since. X-Analysis has a part of the space the older tools played in but is still not as complete if you want to go from Conceptual Modeling, through Logical and Physical, to, at least, database/table generation code. I do, however, like and use X-Analysis all the time.
