Here I go again, ask the question and find the solution on my own again.

SOLUTION:

Content-type: text/html
Content-disposition: attachment; filename=test.xls

with attachment being the key to display correctly.

I'm trying to push back to the browser an HTML table that should be
opened
in Excel. But apparently the code page isn't correct. Because I am
getting garbage when excel opens. Here's my HTML skeleton.

/$top
Content-type: application/vnd.ms-excel

<table>
<tr>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td>Location</td>
<td>Name</td>
<td>Date</td>
<td>Net D/I</td>
<td>Net C/O</td>
<td>Net B&W</td>
<td>Net Liq</td>
<td>Net<BR>Sales</td>
<td>Sales<BR>Tax</td>
<td>Gross<BR>Sales</td>
<td>Cash<BR>Dep#1</td>
<td>Cash<BR>Dep#2</td>
<td>Visa/MC<BR>Dep</td>
<td>Amex<BR>Dep</td>
<td>Discov<BR>Dep</td>
<td colspan=2>Paid Outs</td>
<td>Over/Short</td>
</tr>
</table>

Has anyone else had any luck doing this? I know that I can push to a
stmf
and specify the code page that way. But I'm trying to avoid build a file
on the IFS and pushing that location to the browser.
