I don't think IBM deserves this kind of sarcasm. One of the things IBM does well is that they want to protect customers investments. This is a good thing.

The RPG community wants to "modernize". But they don't want to invest too much time in it, i.e. they don't want to learn Java. Now IBM provides this community with EGL. A development environment which simplifies all these "alien" technologies into one coherent language. So apparantly they listened and acted upon it. Whats wrong with that?
