If Net.Data disappears before RPGIV I would be surprised.
Given IBM's past history, their may be someday a charge for it,
but it is out there in large qty.

even now - that it is not going anywhere soon.

Not to play on your words, but that is exactly my point. It is going
nowhere. When is the next release coming out? What features are going to
be in it?
