You can do whatever you want. It's your choice. But there's absolutely nothing to putting all the message lines in the top. In fact, there is a special tag that supports all the messages rather than individual messages; that tag could be placed at the top of the form.

I won't debate the pros and cons of your UI style. I'm sure you've heard arguments on both sides. I will say that without too much work you ought to be able to get the messages to appear wherever you want them to appear.
